Wednesday 16th

Violent Mood Swings and Friends
DOORS 7:30pm // £TBC

THE VIOLENT MOOD SWINGS - is not just a band but a concept. Drawing from different players over the years to form what essentially is a Mood Swing musically speaking. The band has a core of players but the line up changes from time to time depending on availability and then thats when you get your Mood Swing. Lead Singer and writer of the Music Baz Simpson has been involved from day one and today the core of the band also involves Danny Appolinari on lead guitar and the two lads from Edinburgh's notable band The Dark Jokes with Ru Morrison on Bass and Paul Dennigton on drums. The band is hard to pigeon hole as all the players bring lots of different things to the table but are all players with alot of skill and flare. Genres get crossed over and we suppose if there was a genre for The VMS then it would certainly be Dark Murder Tango Gypsy Jazz Blues.

** Raw Green Rust ** - Jules Rawlinson, Owen Green and Dave Murray-Rust serve up humorous abstract glitch-dub from promiscuous audio processing.

DOORS 8:30pm // £5-£7

The Americana Backroom Sessions is a hub for Americana, Folk and Country musicians and fans, showcasing the best that Edinburgh has to offer the genre. This time you can count on The Evry Brothers Band and the Humors to entertain you.

THE EVRY BROTHERS BAND - With there delightful blend of swaying country, with a bit of bluegrass thrown in for good measure, they easily win over the Edinburgh crowd.

THE HUMORS - The Humors perform dark, story driven songs-from towns mysteriously abandoned over night, to lost ramblers who've stumbled upon a horrifying ritual in the dead of night and lived to tell the tale. Corry and Nicola, respectively, have worked together for a number of years and played in many different musical outfits-from jazz to blues grass. This experimenting with the genres has resulted in their current sound which draws from the darker chords of jazz and the narrative of country.
