MHENWHAR HUWS -
'Mhenwhâr Huws'; ancient Welsh words with no agreed meaning, Some say they are the name of a Druidic chief who withstood the Roman invasion, never succumbing to their military might or political bribes. Others say the words are a codified way of saying 'Mae na chwaer' - there's a sister. Spread by early Christians to indicate Jesus had a sister. 'Huws' being added for extra obscurity. Whatever, by the Middle Ages the phrase 'Mhenwhâr Huws' signified rebellion, radicals, secrets and was generally associated with uprisings against the ruling classes. 'Mhenwhâr Huws' was often written on toll booth walls during the Rebecca Riots and used as a slogan during industrial unrest in the 19th and 20th centuries. During the 70s and 80s self-sufficient autonomous collectives in Mid Wales started calling themselves 'Mhenwhârians'. We hope to be good representatives of the Mhenwhârian tradition in the 21st century - resisting the political and capitalistic mire we find around us and trying to find alternative harmonious, ecological and autonomous ways of moving forward, 'I'r Mhenwhâr'.

FATALISTS -
Like Crocodiles or Cockroaches, Fatalists are survival specialists. Since the Triassic period we've been cutting round Edinburgh, whittling away at our own sound, ignoring and avoiding musical conformity. Our first album, released 2010, 'Between the Aisles' was a big proggy, punk punch in the face. It went down quite well, we played a BBC introducing session etc. We decided to disappear for three years, to work very hard at our latest album 'Unwelded'. We are extremely proud of it and it is out now on Gammaproforma records.
