Forever Alien : Album Launch Party + Guests
DOORS 7:30PM // £5

BULBLESS presents: A night of experimental electronic vibes with some of the most interesting acts from the Edinburgh underground scene.

FOREVER ALIEN- " His electronic music follow a line that goes from Suicide through minimal synth to video games scores and than sounds, words and visions that arose form an inner world constantly "stranger" give birth to a concert beyond the concert in a "per-formative" event where melodies, projection and gesture merge in an "alien ritual" with art and sound widen human perception, all too human. Every song is crossed by a transposition of external conflicts into inner disagreements with a perennial denial which culminate in an extra-dimension, a no man's land, where to finally find nothingness again."

THE REVERSE ENGINEER- The Reverse Engineer is Dave House - a musician, sound artist and graphic designer who creates polyrhythmic soundscapes from algorithms, field recordings, sampled instruments and everyday sounds. His latest album Elusive Geometry received excellent reviews from international press as well as airplay on BBC radio.

MIDI PAUL- Midi Paul is the alter ego of bassist/producer Phil McBride. Expect stuttering drums, spliced up disco samples, wobbly arpeggios and some computer funk. On stage, the music evolves like a DJ set but in place of the turntables you will get live bass, dirty analogue synths and old school breakbeats.

Matinee Show Braw Gigs presents : Ashley Paul with guests
DOORS 4pm till 6pm // £5 OTD

ASHLEY PAUL Ashley Paul is an American performer and composer based in London. She uses an array of instruments including saxophone, clarinet, voice, guitar, bells and percussion, mixing disparate elements to create a colorful palate of sound that works its way into her intuitive songs; free forming, introverted melodies. This blend manifests beautiful and simple musical forms against acoustic experimentation.

The Duo of Ali Robertson and Tara Pattenden will be up first - Ali fresh from Usurper's very successful residency at Counterflows 2018 alongside Tara Pattenden, who has been working with soft circuitry to create interfaces for audio electronics that manipulate sound through touch and movement. As Phantom Chips she performs with an array of home made electronic instruments, samplers and wearable noisemakers.

FATALISTS- Like Crocodiles or Cockroaches, Fatalists are survival specialists. Since the Triassic period we've been cutting round Edinburgh, whittling away at our own sound, ignoring and avoiding musical conformity. Their first album, released 2010, 'Between the Aisles' was a big proggy, punk punch in the face. It went down quite well, they played a BBC introducing session etc. "We decided to disappear for three years, to work very hard at our latest album 'Unwelded'. We are extremely proud of it and it is out now on Gammaproforma records"
