WEDNESDAY 3rd

An Evening with Stanley Brinks & Freschard
DOORS 8:00PM // £ TICKETED (Tickets here)

All the way from Berlin to Leith, we're very pleased to welcome this duo back to Edinburgh, for what will undoubtedly be a fun and magical night.Given the breadth of their respective solo back catalogues, as well as collaborative projects (such as Kreuzberg Museum), there will be no supporting acts for this evening. All Stanley, all Freschard, all night!

STANLEY BRINKS – In the ten years since leaving Herman Dune to follow his own path, Stanley Brinks (TAFKA André Herman Dune) has gone on to forge a unique musical identity that stands as solid as an ancient castle wall, or the back interior wall of a traditional pub (nb. essential). Incredibly prolific, he has released more than 30 albums since 2004, released as CDs and LPs in instantly recognisable monochrome sleeves, as well as recording and touring celebrated albums with indie heroes The Wave Pictures and Norwegian folk collective The Kaniks. He writes songs which are somehow timeless yet unique, drawing as much from calypso as anti-folk or left-field indie rock, his lyrics and soft-but-resonant vocals needing little embellishment (although he has been known to drop a tearing ocarina solo or two).

FRESCHARD - Clemence Freschard is Brinks' long-time musical and touring sparring-partner and collaborator, and another formidable songwriter. With a deceptively straight-forward singing style, her beguiling, Gallic-accented vocals move between melancholy, joy and mystery with the ease of the relaxed narrator of a pulp spy noir. With a similarly deep well of songs as her co-conspirator, Freschard will most likely make you laugh, before enchanting you with a song as luminous as a new moon.
